RDS Technology Ltd was one of the first companies world-wide to introduce the concept of using electronics, to improve the efficiency of agricultural machinery, in 1969.
The Company's first (and for several years only) product was a Grain Loss Monitor for combine harvesters. Several thousand systems were made and many are still in use throughout the world today.
In 1976 RDS were the first Company to use a microprocessor in an agricultural electronics application and in the early 1980s the Company diversified into other related markets such as construction, quarrying, municipal vehicles etc.
Today, the Company employs 70 people at its' factory in the heart of the Cotswolds in Gloucestershire, UK. They supply 90 off-highway vehicle OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and sell a range of retrofit products through a distributor network in 25 countries.
A separate division of the Company, Precision Farming Ltd., was set up in 1996 to focus effort on this exciting new technology. RDS Technology is one of the very few companies committed to developing a complete, integrated range of Precision Framing Instrumentation for all makes of agricultural machinery.
