Sprayer control system

New sprayer control system

All new sprayers as of August 1998 will be fitted with electric boom control units from Spraying Systems. These are a very high output valve and incorporate a quick change, balanced return system. This means that when any individual boom section or multiple boom sections are switched off the flow is re-directed to the tank through an adjustable restrictor thereby keeping the spraying pressure constant. A colour coded dial is fitted (matched to ISO nozzle colours) which is simply rotated to the appropriate position whenever the nozzles are changed. This then lines up the correct restrictor (which can be pre-set) for that particular nozzle fitted.

New motorised ball valves from Spraying Systems

The valves are motorised ball valves and are fitted with stainless steel balls. They have an extremely quick reaction time for a ball valve - 0.6 of a second - which gives performance matching that of a solenoid type valve. This ensures a very rapid shut-off / switch on and virtually no pressure fluctuation whether used in conjunction with an automatic controller or not. The modular system is also designed so that in the unlikely case of a failure, any individual valve can be removed without having to dismantle the complete unit.

The latest sprayer plumbing system only has two main control valves for simplicity of operation. One valve controls the pressure flow and one the suction.

The suction valve is used to select whether the liquid is sucked out of the main tank, the wash tank or from the water self-fill system.

The pressure Valve directs the flow to either the chemical inductor, the tank wash system, to the boom controls/circulation or directly into the tank for quick filling.
